Key Responsibilities:


This position is responsible for the monitoring and control of facility access and for monitoring the facility, youth, and line movement.


  • Performs responsibilities which involve placing and answering calls, remembering names of facility staff including location and facility program routines.


  • Responsible for the entrance and exit of visitors and proper documentation of visitation, off site trips and appointments of youth and staff.


  • Authorizing, monitoring, and documenting youth movement.


  • Monitoring of video systems.


  • Completion of perimeter checks at the beginning and end of each shift.


  • Communicates emergencies to the appropriate staff.


  • Notify supervisor of receipt of paperwork, court orders, etc.


  • Log all staff entering and leaving the facility.


  • Monitors the fence, fire, and security alarms.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements:


Education: High school diploma or equivalent


Experience: Minimum of one year experience working with at-risk youth or working in a monitoring/control role in an institutional setting.


Skills: Ability to think and act independently. Advanced oral and written communication skills.



Physical Demands: Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable. Must be able to move about the property. Must be able to participate in youth activities. Must be able to transport youth or staff. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that data is attainable under the law. Must be able to pass PAR evaluation of physical techniques and written certification exam.


Other: Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
