Job Description Summary
Ensures the security and safety of the guests, employees, cash and physical assets of the casino. Acts in the capacity of Relief Key Control Officer as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
When acting as Relief Key Control Officer:
  • Will oversee the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa Key Control and Inventory System as well as accountability of other Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa departments maintaining a key inventory.
  • Provide the Director of Security with a quarterly reconciliation of the casino key inventory including applicable accountability only keys during an extended assignment as Relief Key Control Officer.
  • Reference and maintain an updated Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa Key Control computer database program with manual backup documentation.
  • Maintain an accountability key inventory system for department operation maintaining separate key control with manual backup documentation.
  • Investigate all casino departmental requests and concerns regarding inoperable keys, locks, and other locking devices with the exception of departments that maintain separate key control.
  • Complete necessary repair work related to keys, locks, and other locking devices.
  • Coordinate outside locksmiths service when necessary and keep records of all repair work conducted by that service.
  • Maintain Key/Lock Disposition Files and immediately notify Gaming surveillance and/or Gaming Agents of damaged or inoperable hardware.
  • Duplicate keys on request with approval from the Director of Security.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation, distribution, and accountability of all SRC Security Lost and Found items.
  • Create, provide and maintain a monthly inventory reference book for the documentation of all items that have been found, lost and returned.
  • Provide to the Director of Security a monthly inventory of all items scheduled for donation for their approval.
  • Responsible for storage and documentation of all contraband (drug paraphernalia, drugs, weapons).
  • Maintain relations with local law enforcement agencies for the removal of contraband (drug paraphernalia, drugs, weapons).
  • Perform any other duties or assignments the Director of Security deems applicable.
  • Must adhere to all Tribal Ordinance, Regulations, and the ACCRS and SRC System of Internal Controls, and Standard Operating Procedures.

When acting as a Security Officer:
  • Ensures the integrity of casino gaming in general.
  • Maintains a constant surveillance throughout the casino, for irregularities, illegal gaming devices and suspicious activity.
  • Immediately reports suspicious or unusual activities to the applicable department supervisor.
  • Periodically checks casino perimeter and cash cage door.
  • Delivers fills/credits to and from cash cage and gaming stations.
  • Escorts all chips and cash transfers within the casino.
  • Collects and transports table game drop boxes to the Count Room or applicable storage area.
  • Assists in monitoring guest/automobile traffic as required.
  • Maintains and controls access to restricted areas.
  • Checks ID for possible underage customers.
  • Responsible for opening outer door of ATM machine for fills.
  • Provide security for Cash Cage and Count Room.
  • Ensures the safety of guests and employees during the casino operation.
  • Performs first aid, CPR and the use of the AED as required.
  • Works with local police, fire or emergency medical teams as necessary.
  • Provides security for the casino and protects casino assets.
  • Accepts found property and tags for safekeeping, accepts found or confiscated drugs and properly tags for safekeeping.
  • Assists in locating lost property, files report if not found.
  • Fosters and maintains positive guest relations.
  • Accepts, records and notifies management of guest or employee complaints.
  • Removes individuals from the casino when directed by the General Manager, Security management, and the Agua Caliente Gaming Commission.
  • Makes LAWFUL citizens arrests for law violations, when required.
  • Responsible for maintaining Security Key Desk Records and the issuance of sensitive keys.
  • Handles all other applicable security functions as directed.
  • Must adhere to all Tribal Ordinance, Regulations, and the ACCRS and SRC System of Internal Controls, and Standard Operating Procedures.

PREVIOUS GAMING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year related experience in security lock-smith industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Desirable to have experience in law enforcement, security, military, current Guard Card or 832 PC college classes.
  • Required to obtain a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certificate.
  • Must be able to write clear and concise reports and be able to communicate in English.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment. Must be able to work in a lighting subdued environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions to include extreme heat and cold weather.
  • Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
