Job description

Shift: 5am to 5pm or 8am to 8pm CT. Sunday to Tuesday and every other Wednesday OR Thursday to Saturday and every other Wednesday.
The Key Account Specialist serves as the primary operational liaison between customers, dispatch, supply, and operations teams, ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply and exceptional customer service. This role leverages inventory analysis, operational reporting, and proactive communication to identify risks, coordinate solutions, and improve overall customer outcomes.
The specialist monitors customer inventories, supports delivery planning, manages operational events, communicates supply impacts, and provides data-driven insights that enable efficient decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Supply Management
  • Monitor customer inventory levels and identify runout risks.
  • Report inventory status multiple times daily.
  • Verify delivery plans for at-risk locations.
  • Monitor stores impacted by closures, pump outs, or maintenance.
  • Ensure sourcing from preferred terminals whenever possible.
  • Support operational decision-making during supply disruptions and weather events.

Customer Success & Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of coordination for customer operational needs.
  • Ensure timely communication regarding maintenance, supply issues, and operational events.
  • Coordinate tank testing requirements and customer notifications.
  • Escalate and resolve inventory and supply concerns before service disruptions occur.

Analytics & Reporting
  • Audit loading activity and transaction accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory and supply performance trends.
  • Provide market and brand sales trends to operational leadership.
  • Track load activity by customer and fleet point.
  • Maintain outage, contamination, and misload reporting.
  • Develop recurring operational performance summaries.

Operational Coordination
  • Maintain operational calendars and event schedules.
  • Manage dispatch pass downs and operational communications.
  • Maintain centralized operational documentation and reporting resources.
  • Support cross-functional coordination between dispatch, supply, and customer teams.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills, using e-mail and web-based computer systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required (i.e., vlookups, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Excellent organizational skills are a must.
