Strategic Account Manager

Job Description:

Summary: The Strategic Account Manager will cultivate long-term, high-level relationships with current, valued clients, while also generating new business leads. The candidate will focus on revenue growth, cross-functional collaboration, account analysis, and strategic partnerships.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

  • Identify, manage and deliver on existing and new business opportunities to achieve revenue, profit and growth targets in assigned markets and territory.

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of business leads and opportunities through Sugar that are aligned with segment strategy to deliver profitable growth.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development to conduct execution of innovation programs by assessing customer needs, introducing new or existing products and positioning EIS as the preferred solution to support customers growth objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with customers, prospects, key influencers, and decision makers across the value chain at target accounts.

  • Account Management of key end-use customers including coordination of all internal multi-functional customer-facing team activities.

  • Participate as needed in industry associations and events to promote the EIS portfolio and capabilities as well as represent EIS in the market.

  • Shares business, competitive and industry intelligence with internal organization (marketing, research and development, tech service, customer service, etc.) to promote increased revenue and value.

  • Provide routine feedback to the internal organization on market trends, competition and key customer wins, losses & areas of risk.

  • Expand business and customer loyalty within accounts, influence key stakeholders (R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, C-Level) working on new ideas and technologies.

  • Define and negotiate the terms of contracts and get support and approval from all stakeholders, including internally within EIS.

  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency and expertise in presenting the EIS distribution and fabrication portfolio.

  • Provide forecasts for sales and orders as required and complete all reporting requirements in a timely manner.

  • In conjunction with Marketing and Management, contribute to the strategic direction of segment by maintaining an awareness of markets, trends, competition and technology changes.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require regular travel to facilities within the assigned geographical region to provide on-site support.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, science or business; MBA is a differentiator.

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development or Marketing, preferably in relevant markets.

  • Strong ability to manage opportunity pipeline and communicate needs to move projects through the pipeline.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex proposals and projects as well as selling into high value accounts.

  • Polished communication skills to successfully deliver presentations and communicate professionally.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence within all levels of an organization.

  • Computer proficiency. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Sugar CRM, Power BI and SAP are differentiators.

  • Proven ability to close business.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in relevant markets.

  • Experience working at multiple levels within OEMs and end users.

  • A self-starter and proactive person who can strategize and execute a plan.

  • Technical knowledge of electrical insulation or targeted applications.

  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop win-win solutions to customer problems that will result in new business opportunities and profitable revenue growth

Language Skills: The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.

Reasoning Ability: Strong reasoning and critical thinking skills are required.
