Work Shift
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Heart Failure Physician to join our multidisciplinary team at Cobb and Kennestone Hospitals. The ideal candidate will specialize in managing patients with advanced heart failure and cardiomyopathies, focusing on non-transplant therapies and innovative heart failure management strategies. This role involves collaborating closely with heart failure specialists, electrophysiologists, and other cardiology providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with advanced heart failure, including acute and chronic management.
  • Manage complex heart failure cases using state-of-the-art therapies such as inotropes, mechanical circulatory support (excluding transplant-related VADs intended for transplant), and device therapy.
  • Lead inpatient and outpatient heart failure clinics, including management of LVAD patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers, to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Participate in heart failure program development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research activities as applicable.
  • Provide patient education and support for heart failure self-management.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations and maintain high standards of documentation.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Eligibility/Certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (transplant experience not required).
  • Strong clinical expertise in advanced heart failure management.
  • Experience with mechanical circulatory support devices (e.g., durable LVADs)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Active medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of Georgia.
