Physical Properties Scientist
Kelly Science and Clinical is currently seeking Physical Properties Scientist for a long-term role  at one of our Global medical device clients in Jacksonville, FL.
This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a Kelly  employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. Shift: Monday through Friday (day shift)
Pay Rate: $24.00- $28  an hour and up based on experience
Duration: one year likely to extend
Job Description:
Responsible for the comprehensive analysis of lenses using advanced scientific techniques, including refractive index measurement, assessment of mechanical properties, contact-angle determination, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) for surface and bulk analyses, absorbance/transmission, optical density measurement, gravimetric water content assessment, surface roughness evaluation, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), pervaporation, Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS), oxygen permeability testing, and microscopic visual inspection, following validated analytical methods.
  • Develop and implement new test methods and instrumentation to support the routine evaluation of physical properties of new products and formulations, with the possibility of knowledge transfer to other teams based on strategic initiatives or technological advancements.
  • Support method validation by conducting tests in accordance with specified protocol requirements. Sample types typically include solutions, mixtures, coupons, and lenses. Reviews of results will be completed by designated personnel.
  • Responsible for routine testing of solutions, including pH, conductivity, and osmolality analysis, utilizing USP or other validated test methods, and performing verification/calibration procedures as required.
  • Assist with competitor product inventory and testing. Support data entry and compilation of competitive testing information to maintain and build a master database.
  • Provide analytical support for stability, pre-clinical, clinical, and regulatory studies and respond to related enquiries.
  • Assist with the maintenance of calibration status for laboratory equipment, including facilitating component calibration updates and supporting system change requests to revise calibration due dates.
  • Contribute to the qualification of new instrumentation, with reviews performed by assigned personnel.
  • Participate in guided development of analytical methods aligned with team priorities, subject to workload and expertise.
Qualifications
  •  BS in Chemistry or related field such as Engineering or Microscopy with minimum of 1 year industry lab work experience. 
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of data integrity, data quality, and data management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
