What is a KCS Manager?

A KCS Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing management of Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) practices within an organization, typically in customer support or IT service environments. Their main role is to ensure that knowledge is effectively captured, structured, reused, and improved as part of daily workflows. They lead teams in creating, maintaining, and sharing knowledge articles, and coach staff on best KCS practices to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. KCS Managers also monitor key metrics to assess the impact of the knowledge program and drive continuous improvement.

How does a KCS Manager typically work with cross-functional teams to implement knowledge management initiatives?

A KCS Manager frequently collaborates with teams such as IT, customer support, and training to roll out effective knowledge management strategies based on the Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) methodology.
