The Opportunity

  • Seeking highly competitive and motivated candidates with strong interest in bolstering their ultrasound skills.
  • One (1) year ultrasound fellowship, available for the academic year.
  • Program includes dedicated hours to image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical integration at Kaweah Health Medical Center, participation in local, regional, national, and international ultrasound courses, and exposure to leadership at all levels.
  • As a EUFAC-accredited program, Kaweah Health provides a very strong exposure to the tenents of clinical, administrative, quality assurance, teaching, research, unit acquisition, and revenue cycle management. Additionally, we are an ACEP Clinically Accredited Ultrasound Program (one of only four in CA).

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Graduate of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program required.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
  • Able to obtain a CA state medical license.
  • Interest in ultrasound education.

The Practice

Kaweah Health Medical Center - Visalia, California

  • Kaweah Health is a hybrid community and academic medical center serving a diverse patient population.
  • Our ED has a strong EM residency, is an ACS Verified Level III Trauma Center, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and an AHA STEMI Receiving Center.
  • 74-bed Emergency Department with 95,000 annual visits.
  • 24/7 trauma, IR, and neurosurgical services.
  • 24/7 case management, social work, and in-house interpreters.
  • Kaweah Health Medical Center operates an ACGME accredited 3-year EM residency with 18 residents per year, ACGME accredited Sim/US/Education/Admin EM fellowships, and an AP fellowship program, taking rolling admission with up to 4 AP fellows per year.
