Senior Automation Test Engineer with 10+ years of QA and test automation experience to design, develop, and scale robust automated testing solutions across our web applications, APIs, and microservices ecosystem.

In this role, you will be a hands-on contributor responsible for building reliable automation frameworks, validating API contracts, performing backend state verification, and ensuring high-quality releases across our retail technology platform. You will work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to identify issues early, improve test coverage, and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Framework Engineering

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and test suites for:
    • Web UI testing using Cypress and Playwright
    • API and microservices testing using Karate Framework
  • Create reusable test components, utilities, and automation libraries to improve efficiency and maintainability.
  • Continuously enhance test coverage and automation effectiveness across applications and services.

Retail & E-Commerce Validation

  • Apply strong retail domain expertise to validate critical business workflows, including:
    • Checkout and cart management
    • Inventory synchronization
    • Promotions and pricing
    • Payment processing
    • Point-of-Sale (POS) operations
    • Order lifecycle management
  • Ensure seamless end-to-end customer experiences across integrated systems.

API, Microservices & Backend Testing

  • Develop and execute API automation tests to validate service contracts and business logic.
  • Mock and simulate API responses with Cypress for front-end validation.
  • Utilize Karate Framework for deep backend and microservices validation.
  • Verify data consistency between front-end applications and backend services.

Test Planning & Quality Assurance

  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Implement automated quality gates to support continuous testing and reliable releases.
  • Drive shift-left testing practices to identify defects early in the development cycle.

Observability, Troubleshooting & Analysis

  • Investigate test failures and production issues using:

  • Execute database validations and backend state verification, using SQL and NoSQL queries.

Accessibility & Quality Standards
