We are seeking a
Bilingual Outreach Specialist who enjoys community engagement, relationship-building, and helping students access life-changing opportunities.
This is a highly interactive, community-facing role where you will serve as the primary representative of HEP, building trust, connecting with prospective students, and directly supporting individuals as they take meaningful steps toward educational and career success.

This position develops and implements the HEP Outreach program and includes various other tasks such as data entry, responding to potential students via telephone or email, executing recruitment events, public speaking, and performing various office work.
- Must be ongoing and willing to take initiative, set goals, and develop strategies for HEP outreach.
- Initiates recruitment phone call campaigns.
- Prep materials and organizes recruitment events.
- Serves as the "Face of KCC HEP" during events aimed at recruiting students.
- Provides customer service for walk-in inquiries.
- Schedules and administers potential student intake interviews.
- Maintains accurate student records.
- Creates strategies and an operational recruitment plan.
- Prioritize and periodically evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and outreach plans.
- Develops and maintains referral networks and collaborative partnerships with local agencies, service providers, and community-based organizations to increase access to HEP services.
- Coordinates remote and community-based out reach activities, including inviting subject-matter experts and partner organizations to deliver informational sessions that support the educational and support needs of eligible migrant and seasonal farm worker populations.
- Look for opportunities to post out reach materials, distribute flyers, create or attend special events, and partner with other organizations to attract new students.
- Enters student's data into the college's computer system and uses other digital data tracking tools.
- Answers phone calls an d emails from possible students, and navigates them to the proper solution.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as a culturally responsive and bilingual representative of the college, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions with migrant and seasonal farmworker students, families, and community partners.
- Able to drive at night.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings for recruiting events.
- If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.

- Able to work with others is critical to the success of this position.
- Proficient in using standard office software and digital tools.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and Power Point is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40pounds, including outreach materials and equipment, as part of event setup and program activities.
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in marketing, outreach, and/or communications preferred
