Job description

Two Housekeeping Positions Available

$19.13 an hour; shift differential for working 2nd shift and/or weekends: $0.75 an hour

Position 1 Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm

  • Week 1: Monday through Saturday; off Sunday
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; off Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday

Position 2 Schedule: 12:30pm to 9:00pm

  • Week 1: Monday through Friday; off Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2: Monday through Thursday and Sunday; off Friday and Saturday

Role overview

In accordance with established procedures, quality of care standards, and the Agency mission, serves as an active member of the Facility Management team assists with housekeeping, laundry, and other cleaning tasks in order to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of the facility.

What You’ll Do

Essential responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in order to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of the facility, residents’ apartments, and living areas, such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Provides and assists residents with laundry services including changing linens, picking up laundry, labeling, tending to laundry equipment, folding, sorting, hanging, and distributing clothing.
  • Keeps designated storage areas stocked with necessary cleaning materials and supplies.
  • Must be able to properly identify, understand and safely utilize cleaning chemical products.
  • Rotates floor assignments as necessary.
  • Performs other housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Complies with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the facility.
  • Works closely with others.

Membership in Service Employees International Union Local 73 is a condition of employment.

Education

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or more than 1 year of related experience in a health care, hospital, or hotel setting required.
