As a jurisdictional boiler inspector, your job is to carry out inspections of boilers and pressure vessels. In this career, you inspect boilers to ensure that they have general safety and operational features. You also look to ensure that they are in compliance with all of the codes for your jurisdiction. Your duties include traveling to the building or site for each inspection. You document each boiler inspection and report your findings from your review to the relevant authorities. Some jurisdictional boiler inspectors are contractors or work for private companies, while others handle their responsibilities as part of a government agency.
