What is a junior website developer?

A Junior Website Developer is an entry-level professional who assists in creating, maintaining, and updating websites. They typically work under the supervision of more experienced developers and contribute to both front-end and back-end tasks, such as coding user interfaces, fixing bugs, and implementing new features. Junior Website Developers are often expected to have a basic understanding of programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and may also work with content management systems. Their role is ideal for those starting out in web development and looking to gain practical experience in the field.

As a Junior Website Developer, you may encounter challenges such as adapting to new frameworks and coding standards, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, and finding effective ways to debug and troubleshoot code. Collaboration with designers, senior developers, and project managers is common, so strong communication skills are essential. Over time, you'll gain confidence in using version control systems like Git and better understand best practices for responsive and accessible web design.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior website developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Junior Website Developer, you need foundational skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and an understanding of responsive design, usually supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience.
