We are seeking a mid-level Web Application Developer with strong Python experience and hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining Flask-based web applications. This role will support the design and development of secure, scalable, user-focused web applications that integrate data, authentication, APIs, and modern backend services.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of Python development experience, practical experience with Flask or similar Python web frameworks, and a strong understanding of web application deployment, security, authentication, and certificate management. Experience working with large language models, embeddings, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled application features is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based web applications using Flask or comparable frameworks.
  • Build secure backend services, APIs, and data integrations to support internal and client-facing applications.
  • Configure and manage application authentication, including integration with identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Support certificate setup, HTTPS configuration, and secure deployment practices for web applications.
  • Work with databases, APIs, and external data sources to deliver reliable application functionality.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, solutions architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into working software.
  • Troubleshoot application issues across the frontend, backend, database, and deployment environment.
  • Follow software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, documentation, testing, and maintainable architecture.
  • Support deployment and operational needs in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of professional Python development experience.
    • Secret clearance (TS eligible)
  • Experience developing web applications using Flask.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and common frontend integration patterns.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization concepts, including OAuth, SSO, role-based access control, or identity provider integration.
  • Experience configuring certificates, HTTPS, and secure web application deployments.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar.
  • Experience using Git or another version control system.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating applications with Microsoft Entra ID or similar enterprise identity platforms.
  • Experience deploying Python web applications to cloud or server environments such as Azure, AWS, IIS, NGINX, Apache, Docker, or Linux/Windows servers.
  • Experience with large language models through APIs, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, or local model hosting.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI-enabled application design.
  • Experience with data-heavy applications, dashboards, geospatial applications, analytics tools, or machine learning workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, or DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with security-conscious development practices for government, healthcare, financial, or enterprise environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is a practical, hands-on developer who can build reliable web applications from requirements through deployment. They are comfortable working across backend development, authentication, security configuration, and application troubleshooting. They should be able to understand stakeholder needs, write clean and maintainable code, and contribute to applications that are secure, scalable, and easy to support.
