We are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our growing operations team—someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and understands the unique demands of the oil, gas, and energy industries.

Position Overview

The Junior Estimator will be responsible for assisting in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for pipeline, facility, and industrial construction projects. This role requires strong technical understanding, attention to detail, and the ability to learn how to interpret drawings, specifications, and field data. The ideal candidate has some experienced in both new construction and maintenance projects, capable of supporting bid development, project planning, and customer relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help review project specifications, drawings, and scope documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Learn to develop complete project takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Estimators, project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to validate assumptions and clarify scope.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for materials and services.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and valueengineering options during the estimating process.
  • Help prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for client submission.
  • Participate in prebid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
  • Support postaward handoff to operations and assist with change order pricing or revisions.
  • Qualifications
  • 13+ years of estimating experience in pipeline, facility, or industrial construction (preferred).
  • Some knowledge of welding, piping systems, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency with software and tools (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Ability to learn to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and construction plans.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
