Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Administer Lilly’s Power BI/Fabric analytics platform day-to-day; ensure reliability and secure, scalable analytics adoption.
  • Lead installation/upgrades and large-scale deployments of Fabric/Power BI Report Server/Service across Dev, QA, Production.
  • Maintain HA/cluster/failover; plan and execute patches/security updates/version upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Run CAPA activities (e.g., certificate renewals, password rotations, security patching; update quality documents/SharePoint articles).
  • Optimize Gateway performance, Dataflow efficiency, and dataset refresh reliability.
  • Define/enforce governance for workspaces, datasets, reports, permissions, and content lifecycle; perform audits and usage/performance/capacity insights.
  • Build automation scripts/DevOps pipelines using Fabric/Power BI REST APIs and PowerShell; implement inventory/monitoring/usage tracking.
  • Troubleshoot with infrastructure/network/database/cloud/security teams; support integrations (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, hybrid).
  • Lead capacity planning/scaling/performance tuning; mentor junior admins and establish SOPs; act as platform SME.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Deep Fabric/Power BI architecture knowledge (capacity mgmt, HA/DR, integrations) and proven performance optimization.
  • Strong On-Premises Data Gateway expertise (install/config, clustering, service accounts, ports/proxy, tuning, troubleshooting, cert/credential management).
  • Ability to generate/analyze diagnostic logs (Fabric and Gateway) for proactive health and incident investigation.
  • Networking fundamentals for SaaS connectivity (firewalls, private endpoints, Azure Service Tags, proxy/DNS, Service Bus Relay) and ability to partner with Network teams.
  • Expertise in PowerShell and REST API; advanced SQL.
  • Enterprise identity/security/SSO experience (AD, Azure AD).
  • Azure/AWS knowledge; ability to manage Fabric capacity in Azure with GitHub Actions CI/CD.
  • Communication and business-to-configuration translation skills.
  • Preferred: Spotfire or SAP Business Objects; ServiceNow (or equivalent).
Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED + 3+ years administering Fabric/Power BI platforms; 3+ years hands-on Fabric/Power BI Service + Report Server admin.
  • SQL capability; PowerShell and Fabric/Power BI REST API; enterprise BI operations, migrations, DR planning.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.
