The ideal candidates will possess greater than 5+ years professional experience in SDET or test automation engineering. Will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks for our client's native iOS and Android mobile applications. This role is critical to achieving the project's target of 80% automated test coverage (up from 0% baseline). The SDET writes production-quality test code, integrates automation into CI/CD pipelines, and ensures continuous quality across daily builds and bi-weekly releases. This is a test engineering role - no application feature development is expected.
Responsibilities
  • Implement automated QA across daily builds and regression testing for mobile application(s)
  • Build and maintain automated test suites covering both Golden Path (critical user journey paths tested in every regression) and Non-Golden Path scenarios
  • Achieve and maintain a target automation coverage of 80% across mobile application(s)
  • Integrate automated tests into the Bitrise CI/CD pipeline on recurring builds
  • Code strictly to support automated testing - no application design activities expected
  • Perform development rework as prioritized and defined by the client
  • Produce technical documentation for all developed test solutions
  • Manage and update all assigned work items in JIRA
  • Submit code via Pull Requests to the ABC GitHub repository following defined workflows
  • Participate in weekly/monthly reporting on JIRA progress

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Greater than 5+ years professional experience in SDET or test automation engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in mobile test automation for native iOS and/or Android
  • Hands-on experience with Appium, JUnit, Espresso/Compose UI Test, Robolectric, and/or Paparazzi
  • Solid coding skills in Kotlin and/or Swift/Objective-C (for test scripting purposes)
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise or similar)
  • Proficiency with GitHub (branching, PRs, code reviews)
  • Experience with TestRails for test case management
  • Familiarity with JIRA for task tracking and reporting

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with SonarQube for code quality analysis
  • Prior experience working on automotive or connected vehicle mobile apps
  • Familiarity with Confluence for documentation
  • Understanding of security, accessibility, and performance testing concepts
  • Experience working in fixed-cost / outcome-based delivery models
