Job description

Description
We are seeking an experienced MQ Administrator to support and maintain the enterprise messaging infrastructure and integration services across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of IBM MQ/ACE (App Connect Enterprise) environments that enable secure, reliable, and high-performing communication across critical business applications and platforms.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in middleware administration, operational support, and incident resolution, with the ability to work effectively across infrastructure, application development and production support teams. This position plays an important role in ensuring stability, resilience and security of the enterprise messaging and integration services.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and administer IBM MQ environments across development, stage, and production.
Create, manage, and maintain queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, and other MQ objects.
Support and maintain IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) environments, including integration servers, message flows, BAR file deployments, and runtime support.
Monitor MQ system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve MQ and ACE related issues including connectivity, message delivery, channel failures, and performance bottlenecks.
Perform upgrades, patches, fix packs, and migrations for IBM MQ environments.
Support message flow deployment and promotion activities across environments in alignment with change management and release processes.
Implement and maintain security configurations, including SSL/TLS, authentication, authorization, and certificate management.
Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to support integration and messaging requirements.
Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures.
Participate in on-call support and incident response for production issues.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of enterprise messaging platform experience.
Proven experience as an IBM MQ & ACE Administrator or in a similar middleware support role.
Hands-on experience supporting or administering IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) in development, test, or production environments.
Strong knowledge of IBM MQ architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Linux/Unix server environments.
Familiarity with message queuing concepts, distributed systems, and middleware technologies.
Experience with MQ security, including SSL/TLS and user access controls.
Knowledge of scripting for automation and operational support.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
