Mainframe Storage Administrator

Location: Allen, TX onsite

Duration: Contract

Skills Required:

  • Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of mainframe storage systems, including DASD, virtual tape libraries, and tape management systems.
  • HSM Migration and Backup: Lead the planning and execution of HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) migrations and backups, ensuring data integrity, availability, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Vantage Storage Software: Manage and maintain Vantage Storage software for performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization of storage resources.
  • Hitachi Disk Replication: Administer and manage Hitachi disk replication processes, ensuring data consistency, availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Virtual Tape Systems: Oversee the management and operation of virtual tape systems, ensuring efficient storage utilization and data protection.
  • RMM (Removable Media Manager): Administer RMM, including the management of physical and virtual media, and ensuring adherence to retention policies.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform regular performance analysis and tuning of storage systems to meet or exceed performance objectives.
