We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Quality Assurance Engineer. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and will work in Pompano Beach, FL.
As Quality Assurance Engineer of the Pompano Beach, FL team, you will be responsible for supporting activities related to the management of the Quality program. You will assist the quality, procurement, manufacturing, sales and engineering departments with the day-to-day issues relating to ISO certification, validation, quality performance, and problem solving.
General Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the Dometic Quality Manual and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Independently lead structured problem-solving activities using recognized quality tools and methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans), ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Own the creation, execution, and verification of 8Ds, CARs, and customer corrective actions, including effectiveness checks and closure in accordance with Dometic standards.
  • Serve as a primary Quality contact for customer quality issues, including complaint handling, containment, investigation, corrective action, and customer communication.
  • Manage and present Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as warranty rates, customer complaints, supplier PPM, COPQ, and internal defect metrics; drive actions based on trend analysis.
  • Act as a key member of the warranty reduction committee, supporting data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional corrective actions to reduce field failures and warranty cost.
  • Lead and support new product launches, including PPAP, Safe Launch, PFMEA, and Control Plan development and validation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Layered Process Audits (LPA) to verify adherence to critical process controls, work instructions, and quality requirements; analyze audit trends and drive systemic improvements.
  • Plan and conduct ISO-based internal audits, including process, system, and compliance audits; support external certification, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Own document control activities, including creation, revision, approval, training, and maintenance of quality system documentation in compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Conduct and lead production line and process audits to assess manufacturing capability, process stability, and compliance to specifications.
  • Support and lead supplier quality activities, including supplier qualification/disqualification, supplier corrective actions, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate and support engineering change management related to quality, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data-driven analysis to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality risks across manufacturing, supply chain, and field performance.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical and quality support to manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Facilitate internal quality action meetings and communicate quality risks, trends, and improvement plans to site leadership.
  • Mentor Quality Technicians and influence cross-functional teams by promoting a strong quality culture and disciplined problem-solving mindset.
  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in an engineering environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science with 5+ years equivalent work experience.
  • ASQ QE certification preferred but not required
  • Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality assurance practices
  • Have a basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, follow-up, and the ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Be able to plan, control, assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
  • Have a thorough understanding of problem-solving, quality improvement tools, and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurement devices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Minitab a plus
  • Experience with ISO requirements (QA Auditor)
  • Must have good interpersonal, written, verbal and analytical skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% Domestic
  • Leadership training/skills a plus
