Job description

Position Overview

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and modernize the enterprise applications that power Rooms To Go's supply chain. These systems support inventory planning, purchasing, replenishment, supplier collaboration, and operational decision-making, helping ensure the right products are available at the right place and time to meet customer demand.

This role is ideal for a software engineer with 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience who enjoys solving complex business challenges with scalable, reliable software. You'll partner closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, and Product teams to develop solutions that improve inventory availability, automate business processes, reduce operational costs, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Rather than building customer-facing websites or e-commerce features, you'll focus on the business-critical systems that keep our supply chain running efficiently and directly impact purchasing decisions, inventory flow, and the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack supply chain applications using JavaScript, Vue.js and/or React, C#, and .NET Core.
  • Develop business applications that improve inventory availability, purchasing, replenishment, shipment planning, and overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Build and enhance software that automates business processes, streamlines workflows, reduces manual effort, and supports smarter purchasing decisions while reducing inventory shortages and operational costs.
  • Design and maintain backend APIs, business services, integrations, and application logic using C# and .NET Core.
  • Develop intuitive front-end applications that support inventory visibility, purchasing workflows, exception management, approvals, prioritization, reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize relational databases and data models supporting products, vendors, inventory, purchase orders, sales demand, lead times, and fulfillment.
  • Integrate enterprise applications with ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), supplier platforms, reporting tools, third-party systems, and internal business applications.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Sales, Product, QA, and Engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Participate in application architecture, technical design, and code reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing while promoting engineering best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including API documentation, system architecture, data flows, implementation decisions, and deployment or support guides.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions that improve application stability and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience building full-stack, enterprise business applications.
  • Strong full-stack development experience with JavaScript, modern web frameworks (Vue.js and/or React), and backend development using C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience designing and developing backend APIs, business services, integrations, and data-driven applications.
  • Experience building and supporting enterprise software, internal business systems, operational platforms, workflow tools, dashboards, reporting applications, or similar business-critical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, including data modeling, SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and application data access patterns.
  • Experience translating complex business processes and workflows into scalable, maintainable software solutions while supporting systems where accuracy, reliability, and business continuity are critical.
  • Strong understanding of API design, authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, logging, and secure coding best practices.
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other developers, contribute to technical decision-making, and produce clear technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to balance engineering quality, business priorities, operational urgency, and delivery timelines.

Supply Chain Experience:

Direct supply chain experience is highly desirable but not required. The ideal candidate should be excited to learn and work within business domains such as:

  • Inventory management, including inventory availability, replenishment, purchasing, purchase order management, sales demand, demand planning, backorders, stockouts, lead times, fulfillment, and shipment prioritization.
  • Supply chain optimization, including cost reduction, process automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Enterprise supply chain technologies, including ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), and integrations with internal and third-party business systems.
  • Operational decision support, including exception-based workflows, reporting, dashboards, and business process visibility.

Preferred Experience:

  • Cloud, DevOps, and AI development tools, including Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitHub Copilot, Azure AI, or similar technologies.
  • Enterprise business systems, including ERP, WMS, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, order management, forecasting, replenishment, business process automation, reporting, analytics, and operational software.
  • Modern application architecture, including microservices, service-oriented architecture (SOA), Docker, containerized applications, and enterprise application development.
  • Application monitoring, modernization, and integration, including Application Insights, Datadog, New Relic, modernizing legacy .NET applications, and integrating with third-party systems and APIs.
