Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join the teams that power our
content metadata platform. The Ingestion team builds the pipeline that pulls
content from partner sources and moves it through a multi-step workflow to
present data in the VIZIO ecosystem - using message-driven services and
workflow orchestration.
The Aggregation team takes that data further: it resolves and reconciles
identifiers across systems, translates partner feeds into a universal model, and
aggregates content into the clean, unified metadata that downstream products
depend on. In this role you will contribute to both efforts, helping content flow
reliably from raw partner feeds to trusted, production-ready data.
What You'll Do:
  • As a recent graduate, you will work alongside experienced engineers on
  • real, customer-facing services.
  • You will build and maintain REST APIs and background workers organized
  • in a clean, layered architecture (API, business logic, and data access), write
  • unit tests for the code you ship, and help debug and improve the data
  • pipelines that keep our catalog accurate.
  • You will learn how large systems are deployed and monitored in the cloud,
  • and you will grow your skills through code review, pairing, and our "leave
  • the code better than you found it" culture.

What You'll Bring:
Our platform is built primarily in C# on .NET, deployed as containerized
microservices to AWS. You do not need experience with all of these things. We
expect you to learn on the job - but familiarity with any of the following is a
plus:
  • C# 12 and .NET 8 (ASP.NET Core Web APIs and background workers)
  • Layered service architecture and SDK clients
  • Data access with Microsoft SQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Mongo
  • Messaging and orchestration with MassTransit, RabbitMQ
  • REST tooling: Swagger/OpenAPI, RestSharp
  • Testing with xUnit, Moq
