Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Sr Principal Software Test Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah, or Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel Program.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years at time of application
Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
3+ year(s) of experience working Software Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering
3+ year(s) of experience with Java, C++, Python
Experience writing test scripts in order to verify requirements
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
Experience with IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS and Jazz)
Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence)
Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks
Experience with embedded software systems and integrating SW onto HW
Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks
Experience with writing and boarding test documentation including Software Test Plans, Software Test Procedures, and Software Test Reports
Demonstrated ability to mentor/lead junior engineers in completion of project goals

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
