Job Description:

The senior development lead will be responsible for implementation quality, code reviews, code optimization, unit test completeness and integration, packaging and deployment automation verification, and triage/investigation of any code quality bug/defect.

Develop and implement inherently scalable and high-availability systems supporting high volume and high concurrency using SDL Tridion / Microsoft .NET Framework / J2EE.

Develop and implement highly advanced and responsive user interfaces leveraging current and latest web frameworks and technologies like HTML5, CSS3, CSS Precompilers and jQuery.

Communicate and collaborate with technical architects / solution designers, business users and stakeholders to analyze business needs, understand functional requirements and develop documentation required to implement the solutions.

Leverage industry best practices to implement Content Manageable solutions enabling business users self-service control of the final solution.

Follows approved SDLC and project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained using Industry Standard Practices, Frameworks, Design Patterns.

Accountable for the solutions produced by the development team assigned to project or program, and ensuring final solution meets technical design that was created.

Participates in scrum meetings and is responsible for operating as the lead developer in the scrum.

Excellent development and mentoring skills. Dynamic, effective communicator at all levels, in both structured and non-hierarchical, informal structures.

Drive and own the development Change Control process and work with Control Advisory Board (CAB) for change approvals and best practices.

Knowledge of Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit

Lead and mentor junior developers through build and test phases for web development

Provides input to management on staff performance.

Reviews work products from team and vendor consultants, including final solutions as well as produced code where appropriate

Leads both offshore and onshore project teams to deliver large to small web based solutions

Requires flexibility in work schedule, weekends and evenings will be required for deployment oversight and escalated production issues

Experience Required

Qualifications

Required Experience: 

Bachelors Degree Preferred

6+ years' of work experience in web site development, and Content Management Solutions

6+ years' experience with J2EE Web Profile / .NET technologies for web site / application development required.


Preferred Experience: 

MS / BS or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or related field

Demonstrable experience with Web technologies but not limited to HTML4, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SOAP, REST, IBM Web Application Server, Tomcat, IIS, IHS, SQL Queries

Demonstrable experience working with BMC Remedy ticketing system for the purposes of Incident Management, Work Orders, Service Request Management and Problem Management requests.

Demonstrable experience working with Agile methodology, both Kanban and/or Scrum required

Demonstrable experience with enterprise Web Content Management platforms, specially SDL Tridion strongly preferred

Experience with web site development, content management systems, and user experience development (HTML5, CSS3, SASS/COMPASS, Susy Grid, Angular, Bootstrap , etc..) strongly preferred

Insurance industry experience preferred

Global experience preferred, strong understanding of global concepts and experience working with global business partners

Experience with UML Modeling using Rational Software Architect (RSA)

Prior experience with a "Community of Practice" desired

Experience working with Iterative methodology
