Ancestry.com Operations Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer in Draper, UT

Job Duties: Design, build, enhance, and maintain highly scalable, secure web sites using industry standard technologies. Identify and solve advanced technical challenges involving different data structures and design patterns. Interact with various stakeholders to vet the technical requirements. Write code that follows standards and best practices, especially around performance, scalability, and testability, while working in a collaborative agile environment (SCRUM). Investigate and resolve customer issues in a timely manner. Mentor and train junior engineers. 100% telecommuting from anywhere within the U.S.

Minimum Requirements: Masterโ€™s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus 18 months of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation OR Bachelorโ€™s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

  1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web Servers (18 months)
  2. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using React, Redux (18 months)
  3. Experience developing large-scale software applications using NodeJS (18 months)
  4. Experience working with RESTful services in a micro services environment (18 months)
