We seek professionals for our business services group who share these values.

What You Will Do:

The Senior Software Engineer plays a central role within the Software Engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, full-stack applications across the firm's enterprise technology ecosystem. This role requires a seasoned engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can turn around solutions quickly without sacrificing quality, and actively integrates AI tooling into their development workflow. This individual serves as a mentor to junior engineers, helping to raise the technical bar across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack enterprise web applications using C#, .NET, React, Node.js, and MS SQL Server, including the ongoing refactoring, modernization, and support of an existing portfolio of internally developed line-of-business applications primarily built on C#/ASP.NET MVC and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. AI Architect to plan, implement, and integrate AI capabilities, including LLM APIs and AI-assisted features, into scalable, maintainable solutions that span the firm's legal technology stack, including custom applications leveraging data from Aderant, Dayforce, Intapp, SharePoint Online, and the firm's MS Fabric Data Lakehouse.
  • Design and develop agentic AI applications that automate multi-step legal workflows, integrating large language models, tool-calling, and orchestration frameworks to deliver intelligent, process-driven solutions across the firm's practice groups.
  • Maintain a structured intake and delivery pipeline for AI-assisted application requests, applying engineering rigor, security review, data governance standards, and integration best practices to ensure each solution meets firm-wide quality and compliance requirements.
  • Build, consume, and maintain RESTful APIs and web services; design API contracts and ensure standards-compliant integrations across internal and third-party systems.
  • Leverage Claude Code within VS Code and other AI-powered development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and drive engineering efficiency.
  • Provide escalation-level troubleshooting and support for internally developed applications, serving as a subject matter expert for complex issues across the team's application portfolio.
  • Mentor junior software engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in QA processes, patch management, release control, and ongoing production support for application services.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, data engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices, particularly in AI-assisted development and Microsoft technologies.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • 5 - 7+ years of full-stack software development experience with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET (Core and Framework), React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and T-SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and web services (JSON, REST, XML, SOAP).
  • Proven hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, including schema design, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools and services into the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding, LLM API integrations, or intelligent workflow automation.
  • Proven experience using Claude Code integrated with VS Code (or equivalent AI-powered IDE tooling) as part of a regular development workflow.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a track record of managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, code quality, and technical rigor.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, Azure services, and IIS-hosted application environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and release management.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience of 7+ years in a full-stack engineering role.
  • Core Stack: C#, .NET (Core/Framework), React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, T-SQL, MS SQL Server.
  • APIs: RESTful API design and development, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, OpenAPI/Swagger
  • AI Development: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI or equivalent LLM integrations, prompt engineering.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Microsoft Azure, IIS, SharePoint Online, Entra ID.
  • Tools: Visual Studio / VS Code, Git, Azure DevOps, SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Microsoft Fabric and Power BI experience a plus.
  • Low-Code/Platform: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), Outsystems a plus.
  • Law firm application experience (Aderant, Intapp, iManage, InterAction) a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
