Structural Engineer – Junior to Mid-Level                  South Hackensack, NJ

Due to continued growth in 2026, Boswell is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our South Hackensack, NJ team. The successful candidate will work directly with experienced Professional Engineers on a diverse range of structural projects, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, sign structures, waterfront structures, dams, buildings, parking structures, pump stations, and other transportation and infrastructure facilities. Boswell provides hands-on training and mentoring with opportunities for increasing design responsibility and professional growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform structural analysis and design using industry-standard software
  • Prepare structural calculations, design computations, technical reports, and construction documents under the direction of licensed Professional Engineers
  • Prepare structural plans and details using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation
  • Design both simple and complex bridges, culverts, and other structural facilities
  • Assist with structural design for NJDOT and NJTA projects; prior NJDOT or NJTA experience is helpful but not required
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction-related engineering activities, as required
  • Comply with applicable design standards and Boswell's internal policies and procedures

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, completed or currently in progress, from an accredited institution
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles, including reinforced concrete and structural steel
  • Graduate-level coursework in structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design, structural dynamics, bridge engineering, or related structural engineering subjects
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred
  • Interest in pursuing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
