Job description

This position is responsible for designing bedding products including but not limited to top of bed products for respective Revman Brands as assigned. This position is also responsible for learning technical and analytical skills that are necessary to develop product. Additional responsibilities include creating presentations for internal and external meetings by working closely with the sales and respective buying teams.

Responsibilities:

    • Product Design including but not limited to, top of bed for respective Revman brands as assigned for both off-price and e-commerce markets
    • Responsible for learning technical and analytical skills needed to design and develop above product categories
    • Responsible for working with Designers to develop all artwork needs for Revman brands (concepts, layouts, repeats, colorings, coordinates, etc.) suitable for presentation to customers and development packets to send to vendors
    • Responsible for design and development process start to finish: creating design concepts, creating story mood boards, pantone color palettes, slide presentations, creating final artwork, creating working specs in PLM, setting up solid marketing colors in PLM, communication with mills, as well as reviewing and approving samples in a timely manner
    • Responsible for contributing to CAD artwork development as needed to support brand and sales needs
    • Responsible for maintaining an organized design file system in Aprimo and sample management system
    • Responsible for following procedures and understanding the importance of system processes to ensure efficient and successful projects
    • Responsible for updating Manager with current status of design projects as needed
    • Responsible for meeting deadlines in a timely manner and communicating status updates on projects to Designer on a regular basis
    • Responsible for addressing all matters in a timely fashion regarding inter-office duties, working with the customers, as well as outside vendor communication and licensors as applicable
    • Responsible for providing product designs and meeting materials/presentations for internal and external meetings by working closely with the Sales and Merchandising staff
    • Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing samples in an organized way to ensure studio neatness and consideration of all team members working environment, as well as following process for sample donations
    • Responsible to help maintain assigned brand showroom to always keep presentable and support Designer in showroom set up and take down
    • Responsible for helping maintain organized brand sample library for design and quality reference
    • Responsible for maintaining awareness of current design trends through regular review of industry publications; home and fashion magazines; and regular visits to main bedding customer to be aware of their current product lines and avoid design duplication

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • BA/BFA in Design/Textile Design or Design-related major (required - i.e. Textiles, Product Development, Home Fashions, or Apparel)
  • Experience with weaving, general knowledge of how fabrics and materials are woven and dyed.
  • One to two years of Home Fashions experience with CAD and related home product development fields
  • Possess strong working knowledge and proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Documented experience in the Design field from both college and work experience, strong color-sense, knowledge of current trends and lifestyle brand aesthetics
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and successfully prioritize workload
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Experience in product design and specification for manufacture
  • Experience with and ability to meet deadlines for design development and production and prioritize and re-prioritize as necessary to meet changing needs
