What is a junior RPA developer?

Junior RPA Developers are entry-level professionals who design, develop, and implement robotic process automation (RPA) solutions under supervision. They typically work with RPA tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere to automate repetitive tasks and improve business processes. Their responsibilities may include creating automation scripts, testing automated workflows, documenting processes, and assisting senior developers. Junior RPA Developers often collaborate with business analysts and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver effective automation solutions.

What does a junior RPA developer do?

Robotic process automation (RPA) uses artificial intelligence or software “robots” to perform automated tasks. Your duties as a junior RPA developer involve working on new or existing automation systems for a company, potentially under the supervision of a more senior employee. You analyze your employer or client’s needs and existing AI systems, and you develop new application programs or modify and improve existing software. You then test the new RPA application and debug it if necessary. Your duties and responsibilities include assisting the IT team with configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting, and you may stick around to help non-technical employees learn to use the software.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a junior RPA developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Junior RPA Developer, you need foundational programming knowledge (e.g., Python, .NET, or Java), understanding of process automation concepts, and a relevant degree in computer science or a similar field. Familiarity with RPA platforms like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere, and certifications in these tools are highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with business teams and troubleshoot automation issues. These competencies are vital for building reliable automation solutions that streamline business processes and drive operational efficiency.

What are some common challenges faced by junior RPA developers during automation projects?

Junior RPA Developers often encounter challenges such as understanding complex business processes, handling exceptions or unexpected scenarios in automation workflows, and ensuring that bots integrate smoothly with existing systems. Additionally, they may need support in optimizing code for efficiency and collaborating effectively with business analysts and IT teams. Regular communication and a willingness to learn new tools and best practices can help overcome these challenges and contribute to the success of automation projects.

Job description

We are looking for a seasoned Enterprise AI Architect to spearhead end‑to‑end assessments for Enterprise‑scale AI and Intelligent Automation initiatives at mid‑sized clients. Operating as a trusted advisor to the CEO and CEO‑1 level, you will diagnose current‑state capabilities, craft future‑state architectures, and build pragmatic transformation roadmaps that unlock measurable value from Generative AI, machine learning, RPA, and intelligent workflow orchestration. You will serve as the critical link between executive vision, technology strategy, and delivery execution—balancing quick wins with long‑term platform resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Area

What You Will Do

Executive Discovery & Assessment

• Lead C‑suite workshops to capture business objectives, automation pain points, and AI ambitions.
• Conduct rapid‑maturity assessments using TOGAF/SAFe, AI Capability Maturity Models, and industry benchmarks.
• Quantify value pools, ROI, and risk for prioritized use‑cases (e.g., GenAI copilots, intelligent document processing, autonomous workflows).

Target Architecture & Roadmap

• Define end‑to‑end architectures covering data, application, integration, security, and governance layers—cloud‑agnostic but fluent in AWS, Azure, and GCP native AI services.
• Establish reference patterns for LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, agent‑based automation, and event‑driven microservices.
• Craft 12‑ to 24‑month transformation roadmaps with clear milestone KPIs, talent requirements, and change‑management plans.

Governance & Operating Model

• Design AI/Automation Centers of Excellence, policy guardrails, and federated governance models (data privacy, ethics, compliance).
• Recommend platform‑selection criteria (build vs. buy) and partner ecosystems.

Proofs of Value & Quick‑Win Delivery

• Oversee rapid proofs of value to validate assumptions, de‑risk technology choices, and demonstrate tangible impact within 90 days.

Thought Leadership & Capability Building

• Mentor client and internal teams; publish POVs on emerging AI trends, DevOps‑for‑ML, and responsible AI frameworks.
• Contribute reusable blueprints, assessment accelerators, and methodology assets across the consulting practice.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

Experience: 15+ years in enterprise / solution architecture, with 8+ years leading AI, automation, or digital‑transformation programs in a consulting environment.

Technical Depth:

Hands‑on architecture for GenAI, LLM fine‑tuning/RAG, ML Ops, RPA, event streaming, and API‑first integration.

Fluency across major hyperscaler stacks (AWS SageMaker & Bedrock, Google Vertex AI & Duet, Azure OpenAI & ML).

Working knowledge of security, data‑governance, and DevSecOps best practices.

Methodology & Frameworks: TOGAF 9/10, Zachman, SAFe, ITIL 4, COBIT, or equivalent; Lean/Agile delivery.

Business Acumen: Proven ability to translate executive vision into actionable technology roadmaps and to build multi‑million‑dollar business cases.

Soft Skills: Polished communicator with board‑room presence; excels at stakeholder alignment, conflict resolution, and cross‑functional leadership.

Certifications (nice‑to‑have): TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect Professional, PMP, Certified RPA Architect (UiPath/Automation Anywhere), or equivalent.
