Description Under general supervision, collaborate with others to give direction on and improve performance of site Industrial Control Systems. Follows and promotes Freeport-McMoRan safety and environmental programs and practices, communicates safety implications related to Process Automation (PA) and directs Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity practices and policies. Gives directions on Process Automation engineering topics and projects.

Develops and participates in engineering project proposals, and engineering designs, and has ability to verify the quality of project work meets site Process Automation standards. Maintains the performance of ICS hardware and software. Participates in identifying opportunities to implement process improvement and optimization through automation while improving Operator and Operations effectiveness.

Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the Process Control Network (PCN) while maintaining plant performance, cyber security, and plant historian systems. Specifies and reviews specialized, analytical and advanced instrumentation solutions to be integrated into the site ICS. Participates in Process Automation equipment life cycle management and develops plans proposals, and budgetary estimates to ensure equipment remains current and up to date.

Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation, OR Bachelor's degree in a Scientific discipline and three (3) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation, OR Master's degree in a Scientific discipline and two (2) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation. Preferred Qualifications: Emerson DeltaV and Rockwell PLC experience PLC, HMI, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS) manufacture training or certification Experience with plant process historians or similar database storage and retrieval systems Experience with ICS/PCN network architecture, communication and security Experience in or understanding of mining and mineral processing and systems Familiarity with or training in NFPA 70 and NEC or Electrical Journeyman Training Criteria/Conditions: Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
