Job description

The Manager possesses a strong level of industry knowledge and exemplary consulting skills to manage both the client relationship and the junior team. Their primary focus is project management as they are responsible for overseeing a project from start to successful completion. They develop and execute detailed work plans including leading analysis and problem solving to manage the day-to-day work of the engagement team. They are responsible for junior staff's ongoing professional development and coaching.

  • Lead and supervise the execution of consulting engagements of clients across multiple industries; ensure work is completed on time and within budget; identify out of scope areas and communicate with client or Partner/Practice Leader/Senior Manager as observed
  • Collaborate plan engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk; adapts strategy and advises client of recommended changes as appropriate
  • Understand the scope of the engagement, recommend revisions as appropriate, and provide input on client retention and fee structure
  • Participate in the presentation of engagement results to those responsible for oversight
  • Delegate work effectively based on risk, team capabilities, engagement status and staff development opportunities
  • Visit client onsite (if needed) for inquiries, assignments
  • Answer client calls and emails in a timely manner with a solution-oriented approach
  • Lead in business development and community activities to help identify and research opportunities on new and existing clients
  • Grow networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage
  • Develop the service line by working with leadership team to advance thought leadership, client and people development (direct management as well as coaching)

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • 6+ years experience in consulting field with understanding of core accounting and finance principles (consideration given to relevant experience in accounting or finance areas)

  • Ability to motivate and lead team

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, strong analytical knowledge in Excel and other analytical/data modeling software a plus

Essential Functions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as an adding machine, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external team members/vendors as needed
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel to other office locations as needed, overnight travel may be required

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $130,000
