Job Summary

To make radiologic images to use in special medical and radiological equipment to radiographically visualize organs not examined by conventional means. Perform general Ultrasound functions.

Essential Functions

Job Specific Contacts 1. General Contacts: Patients, doctors, nurses, visitors, other departments within the hospital. 2. Job Provides Direction to: n/a Environment and Demands 1. Environmental Demands: Describe the physical environment in which the job must be performed. Radiation exposure hazard controlled.

Exposure to infection and disease. 2. Essential Physical and Cognitive Demands, Manual Dexterity: Describe the physical efforts, manual dexterity and cognitive skills required for the job (i.e., eye/hand coordination, lifting, pulling, walking, concentration, analysis, customer sensitivity, etc.). On feet most of day. Lifting and positioning of patients.

Moving of heavy mobile equipment. B. MISSION/STRATEGIC PLAN Participates in activities which support the mission of the hospital B. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Perform exams according to AIUM / ARDMS standards and as per Montefiore Nyack Hospital protocols; maintain competencies as required for position.
  • Maintain a neat, well organized work area; prepare room prior to patient (ie., test equipment, stock room with needed supplies). Keep room and work area neat and clean.
  • Process images to be interpreted by the radiologist.
  • Maintain communication with coworkers to facilitate work flow and patient safety.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a high stress area and maintain a positive interaction for the patient.
  • Close communication with the Radiologists and referring physicians is required for this position.
  • Ability to follow all Hospital policies.
  • Ability to critique images and complete work with RIS / PACS with no errors.

Demonstrates fiscally prudent use of equipment and supplies. 2. Utilizes charge process for supplies/equipment and appropriate billing information including patient history. D. PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS 1. Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations.
