Job description

Position Summary

The Junior Project Manager is a foundational support role responsible for performing structured, process-driven work directly related to the operational execution of the organization’s estimating and order management functions. This position assists in preparing takeoffs, organizing cost inputs, maintaining documentation, and supporting bid development activities that contribute to company revenue and regulatory compliance.

The Junior Project Manager works under supervision and applies established procedures when gathering data, tracking orders, and supporting estimate preparation. This position does not independently formulate pricing strategy, margin positioning, or financial risk determinations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing accurate quantity takeoffs under supervision.
  • Support preparation of estimates aligned with targeted margin guidelines.
  • Collaborate with sales team, technicians, vendors, and manufacturers during bid preparation.
  • Organize and maintain bid schedules and project tracking logs.
  • Maintain organized project files and order management reports.
  • Assist in assembling bids, proposals, and submittal packages.
  • Convert approved quotes to orders in ERP (NetSuite) under supervision.
  • Process vendor acknowledgements and escalate inconsistencies.
  • Track orders and assist with troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Support customer inquiries by gathering required documentation for assigned Project Manager.
  • Review subcontractor proposals for completeness prior to supervisory review.
  • Participate in blueprint reading and NFPA 99 training.

Authority & Discretion

  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Follows established estimating and order management procedures.
  • Does not independently determine pricing, margin levels, or scope risk exposure.
  • Escalates scope inconsistencies and order discrepancies to supervising Project Manager.
