Job description

Summary 
This position will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, 
adapting plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. This position will 
work directly under the supervision of a Project Manager. 


Roles & Responsibilities
• Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad
areas of assignments and related fi elds.
• Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences
and disciplines to complete assignments
• Directs junior engineers, designers, and CADD technicians to successfully execute and deliver
project work
• Prepares or reviews scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
• Prepares or reviews complete project documents.
• Formulates and solves problems.
• Provide QA-QC for plans: traffic, utilities, drainage, plan prep, quantities and cost estimating
• Works in a team environment to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projects
• Understands and adheres to assigned phase and task schedules and budgets to ensure timely
and cost-effective completion of project
• Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects
or programs.
• Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
• Mentor and train junior engineers as needed.

Job Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer
• Public Works experience preferred
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university
• Current Professional Engineer License
• Experienced in LADOTD design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications
• Proven leadership, communication, mentoring and client liaison skills
• Strong technical background. Proficient with Civil 3D
