SUMMARY:

This position as a Project Engineer is one of full-time employment and will serve as a Technical Infrastructure Engineer and Project Manager. The Project Engineer will assist during project planning and construction execution phases. The employee will also contribute to the monitoring and maintenance of project health through continued oversight and updates to the project management platform.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering with a discipline in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction project management.
  • Experience with public utilities, land acquisition processes, regulators, and stakeholder coordination required, with experience working on water infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong emphasis on team relations.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, organize project schedules, contracts, and manage consultants and contractors.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently while managing multiple concurrent deadline-driven projects.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to work with and coordinate with engineering and other department team members.
  • Must possess a valid driverโ€™s license and maintain an insurable driving record.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management including but not limited to, scheduling and leading weekly calls with consultants, contractors, and utility providers.
  • Provide feedback based on approved design documents.
  • Perform financial and contractual reviews to support infrastructure project planning and timing decisions.
  • Update and maintain the project management platform throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage larger projects from early strategy phases, to proposal through closeout.
  • Provide guidance and project management oversight to ensure projects are completed and delivered, safely, on time and on budget.
  • Present findings to the public and clients on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, and various project designs to support decision making on capital prioritization and scheduling.
  • Develop and manage various engineering and environmental projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with supervisor to ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Manage safety compliance with all client and internal requirements/training.
