Job Description Summary:

The Project Accountant performs various accounting functions related to maintenance/processing of accounting transactions and to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for construction projects.

Job Description:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Ability to perform all duties of the Junior Project Accountant position.
  • Assist PM with initiation of monthly draw in Textura and follow up with subcontractors to enter billings.
  • Working knowledge of how to prepare AIA billings and assemble billing with supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile credits for wrap-up insurance programs; OCIP, PLP, PSI, etc.
  • Prepare/submit credit applications for opening new vendor accounts.
  • Understand and review owner contract for accounting related tasks & responsibilities.
  • Monitor the preparation and mailing of preliminary notices.
  • Support other team members as requested.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.


MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or business school, or four years related experience and/or training
  • Minimum two years of construction accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting procedures and principles
  • Experience with on-line integrated accounting systems
  • Ability to organize work and handle multiple projects
  • Ability to instruct and review the work of employees providing assistance
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (EXCEL, WORD and OUTLOOK)
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills, including professional telephone manner
