Power Platform Developer IV (77630)

Centurion

Sterling, VA • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 8 days ago

Job description

Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide.
We are currently seeking a Power Platform Developer IV to join our Corporate team located in Sterling, Virginia.
Position Summary
The Power Platform Developer IV serves as a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, governing, and optimizing enterprise-grade solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. This role leads the design of scalable applications, advanced automations, reporting solutions, and integrations that support operational efficiency, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
This role is also the senior technical lead for workflow modernization initiatives, including the migration and refactoring of workflows currently implemented in Smartsheet into Power Platform and Microsoft 365-native services. The Developer IV operates as both a highly capable hands-on builder and a strategic technical leader, partnering across IT, security, infrastructure, analytics, and business functions to ensure solutions are secure, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Solution Architecture & Delivery
  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management of solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Architect enterprise-ready solutions that are scalable, supportable, secure, and aligned with governance standards.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical designs, roadmaps, and implementation strategies.
  • Build advanced applications, workflows, dashboards, data models, and integrations with enterprise systems.
  • Lead integration efforts between Power Platform and platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, SQL Server, Azure services, APIs, and third-party applications.

Workflow Modernization Leadership (Smartsheet Migration Program)
  • Lead and standardize the approach to assessing and modernizing Smartsheet-based workflows, including inventorying sheets/automations, identifying redundancies, and prioritizing migrations.
  • Define future-state workflow patterns using Power Automate cloud flows, approvals, SLAs/escalations, and robust error handling to improve operational resilience.
  • Drive refactoring decisions (avoid 1:1 rebuilds) by introducing scalable design patterns, reusable components, and standardized connectors and data models.
  • Establish data architecture guidance for selecting SharePoint/Microsoft Lists vs. Dataverse based on relational complexity, security model needs, statefulness, performance, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee development of Power Apps experiences that replace Smartsheet forms/update requests and improve usability and data quality.
  • Ensure migration deliverables include current-state vs. future-state documentation, user readiness planning, and transition support.

Governance, Standards, Security, and Operations
  • Establish and enforce development standards, environment strategy, release practices, documentation requirements, and governance controls.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions meet access control, compliance, auditability, and data protection requirements.
  • Support platform administration, monitoring, optimization, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as a top-tier escalation point for complex technical issues and architectural decisions.
  • Define and implement governance practices including naming standards, ownership, environment usage, and DLP alignment (as applicable).
  • Advise leadership on Power Platform roadmap, licensing considerations, platform adoption strategy, and long-term support model.
  • Contribute to broader enterprise automation, application modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.

Mentorship & Technical Leadership
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical oversight, code reviews, and solution guidance.
  • Lead large, cross-functional initiatives with minimal oversight and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Shape best practices for solution delivery, supportability, reusability, and platform governance maturity.

Level Expectations
  • Operates as a lead or principal-level Power Platform expert.
  • Owns platform strategy, architecture, governance maturity, and enterprise solution patterns.
  • Serves as a top-tier escalation point for complex technical issues and architectural decisions.
  • Leads large, cross-functional initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Mentors developers and shapes best practices for solution delivery, supportability, and platform governance.
  • Influences broader automation and modernization strategy across the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in application development, enterprise systems, automation, or Microsoft platform engineering.
  • 3+ years of deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Power Apps Canvas and Model-Driven Apps
    • Power Automate cloud flows and desktop automation
    • Power BI data modeling and dashboard development
    • Dataverse architecture and administration
    • Solution management, ALM, and environment strategy
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, SQL Server, Azure, APIs, and external data sources.
  • Strong understanding of security, governance, compliance, data loss prevention, environment management, and role-based access controls.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and lead delivery from concept through production support.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with executive leaders, operational teams, and technical staff.
  • Demonstrated success modernizing or migrating workflows from legacy/rule-based platforms (e.g., Smartsheet) into a governed enterprise ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, DevOps pipelines, or custom development supporting Power Platform.
  • Experience in regulated or complex operating environments such as healthcare, finance, government, or multi-state operations.
