Job description

As a Senior PLC Engineer at PPG is a professional with experience developing programmable logic controller (PLC) systems for industrial automation. They typically lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and understand multiple PLC hardware and software platforms. Key Responsibilities
  • Design control system architectures, selecting appropriate hardware and software, and developing PLC code for a variety of industrial applications.
  • Write, testing, and debugging PLC code using multiple programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
  • Integrate PLC systems with other automation components, such as sensors, actuators, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues with PLC systems, including hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Leading PLC engineering projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Create technical documentation for PLC systems, including programming specifications, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
