Location: Barrington, IL

Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000

Employment Type: Direct Hire


We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a highly visible role with long-term growth potential. This position is designed to evolve into a key technical leadership role where the individual will become a subject matter expert across critical manufacturing processes and product lines.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning manufacturing processes end-to-end, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and serving as a technical resource across engineering and operations teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead for assigned manufacturing processes and product lines
  • Lead process design, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting efforts for precision metal components
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost savings
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams on new product introductions and process improvements
  • Develop and improve tooling, fixturing, work instructions, and standardized manufacturing procedures
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues
  • Support capital equipment planning, process scalability, and capacity improvement initiatives
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians while contributing to long-term operational strategy


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within precision manufacturing environments
  • Experience with metal forming, metal stamping, springs, or related manufacturing processes
  • Strong background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering and operations
