This position supports Warfighter Simulation Services (WSS) which includes the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) and Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST) programs This is an onsite position that will split time between Schriever Space Force Base and a nearby office location in Colorado Springs, CO. An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI is required. Position Overview: The successful candidate will assist in the software development lifecycle through requirements derivation, process development and refinement, Model Based Systems Engineering model development, and contractual documentation. Collaborating with senior engineers, you will contribute to data-driven analysis and systems engineering workflows that ensure our simulation tools accurately represent current and future threat environments. This is an exceptional entry-to-junior level opportunity to grow your career in defense modeling and simulation. โ€ข Support capability elicitation and derivation of requirements to realize requested development.
โ€ข Collaborate in defining and developing processes and procedures.
โ€ข Research and gain experience with missile defense concepts, space-based sensor phenomenology, and threat model trajectories.
โ€ข Work in close coordination with senior engineers to develop systems engineering artifacts supporting development and testing.
โ€ข Participate in the development and update of technical documentation, system requirements, and user guides for simulation tools.
โ€ข Provide briefings to customer(s) and stakeholder(s) related to technical solutions, process development and updates, and system engineering artifacts.
โ€ข Support training and orientation of simulation tools. Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with 0โ€“2 years of related work experience.
โ€ข Active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.
โ€ข Practical experience executing or analyzing results from military modeling and simulation (M&S) frameworks.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience in data analysis, scripting, or automation using Python, MATLAB, or C++.
โ€ข Familiarity with missile defense concepts, space-based tracking/sensors, or orbital mechanics.
โ€ข Basic understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.
โ€ข Must be self-motivated and capable of executing technical tasks with minimal supervision.
โ€ข Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs. Preferred:
โ€ข Direct experience working with the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) or Missile Defense Space Tool (MDST).
โ€ข Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) ground test, flight test, or wargaming events.
โ€ข Basic experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw.
โ€ข Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
โ€ข A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI (TS/SCI).
