Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Junior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for performing server administration, as well as escalation support to end-users and onsite support for both hardware and software issues.


The IT Systems Team can be characterized as a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and sudden issues that need to be balanced with “road map” projects. The technician is expected to be able to adapt to this environment and produce results with a self-starter mentality while maintaining a collaborative outlook. The technician will always represent themselves, the department, and the company with the highest level of professionalism.


Innovate Systems and the companies it services maintains multiple on-premises datacenters and this position requires that applicants must be able to be present onsite at the 5-Hour Energy®

plant to ensure system uptime and/or proper triage in case of an outage, regular maintenance, or emergencies. Travel to remote locations may be required on occasion to provide support for special projects/needs. These requirements are superseded by up-front, mutually agreed-upon negotiations, when a Junior IT Systems Administrator cannot feasibly travel due to circumstance or other restrictions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as primary escalation point for Service Desk tickets
  • Server Administration and Troubleshooting
  • Maintenance of IT systems, core business services, and IT Systems components according to documentation
  • Responsible for implementing or maintaining integrations (designed by Systems Engineers) with 3rd party systems/services/software
  • Provide onsite support for the Cybersecurity and Network teams
  • Imaging and deployment of endpoints
  • Perform data restore operations as necessary using backup systems
  • Document inventory, procedures, and configuration in a detailed manner
  • Participate in out-of-band Maintenance Events as required
  • Debugging, Troubleshooting, Function Analysis
  • Conduct training for other IT Admins and End Users as required
  • Perform security permission changes/additions/deletions for all platforms in coordination with Cybersecurity
  • Maintain required support logs/alerts
  • Handle third-party support calls for IT Systems equipment and/or platforms
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Comply with documented procedures, practices, and policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ Years administrating Microsoft Environments (AD, Windows, Multi-site, Group Policy)
  • Powerful troubleshooting method/ability
  • Strong understanding of O365 platforms and features (SharePoint, Azure AD, Conditional Access, Teams, and Exchange)
  • Strong understanding of software/update deployment methodologies
  • Operational understanding of Cloud, Hybrid, and On-Prem environments
  • Operational grasp and use of PowerShell
  • Familiarity with virtualization and hypervisors (Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with MDM/MAM/EMM
  • Mindful of security best practices in solution implementation
