Job Description

Join AECOM's Transportation Business Line as a Landscape Architect IV.  Make a significant impact on transportation projects across the Southeast with your talent and experience. AECOM is seeking a creative professional to join our team and help shape innovative designs for streetscapes, highway beautification, and multimodal pathways.

  • Lead High-Profile Transportation Projects: Shape the vision and design of transformative transportation corridors, highway corridors, complete streets, transit facilities, and multimodal networks throughout the Southeast.
  • Influence Project Strategy: Partner with transportation planners, engineers, urban designers, and clients to develop innovative, sustainable, and context-sensitive design solutions.
  • Regional Impact: Help create resilient, aesthetically impactful transportation environments that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life for communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead landscape architecture tasks for complex transportation projects from planning through construction administration.
  • Serve as a design lead, providing creative direction and quality oversight for project deliverables.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, transportation agencies, and stakeholders to develop project goals and design solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior landscape architects, designers, and technical staff.
  • Prepare and review planting plans, hardscape layouts, visual simulations, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Support project pursuits, proposals, and presentations to transportation agencies and municipal clients.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOT standards, environmental regulations, and project requirements.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and help strengthen AECOM's transportation landscape architecture practice.
    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture or related field 
    • 6 years of Landscape Architecture experience or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred:

    • Licensed Landscape Architect or actively pursuing licensure
    • Familiarity with native and climate-appropriate plant communities in the US Southeast region
    • Experience with MicroStation and DOT-related construction documentation
    • Experience with Design-Build project delivery
    • Experience with RFP/RFQ processes for public agencies, institutions, organizations, and private entities
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and ArcGIS
