Job description

Landscape Architecture Intern | Long Island, NY

100% Employee-Owned Big-firm resources, local-team relationships, ONE IMEG culture

IMEG is hiring a Landscape Architecture Intern in Long Island, NY. Over 10-12 weeks, you willassistwith landscape architecture design solutions and the preparation of technical deliverables for project work. This is a paid, mentored summer internship with real project work alongside experienced landscape designers, landscape architects, and other land development professionals.

You will contribute to exhibits, plans, research, site visits, and submission packages while working within project budgets and collaborating with other land development teams to meet project goals and client expectations. The team you would join supports environmental, municipal, and wastewater-related work across Long Island and New York City, with in-house landscape architecture, planning, and environmental services.

  • Assistwith the preparation of exhibits, presentation graphics, and renderings

  • Assistwith the preparation of landscape and planting plans, and tree preservation plans

  • Assistwith research, calculations, and data entry for associated plans and reports

  • Assistwith concept and schematic landscape design

  • Assistwith site visits and tree assessments

  • Assistwith the preparation of landscape sheets within entitlement drawing submission packages and site plans for plan processing and implementation

What You'll Bring

Education

  • Completed at least 2 years towards aBachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture(BLA), or equivalent required

Experience

  • None listed

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Good graphic skills, and good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organization and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Eagerness to learn

  • Strong interest in design consulting

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CADsoftwareand BIM

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Prior internship experience in the land development industry preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds

  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

  • Recent work includes Great Neck Water Pollution Control Sewer, Government; LIU College of Science, Education; and Southampton Hospital EOR, Healthcare

State of New York Salary Range: $22 - $24

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
