Summary

We are seeking Senior Java Developers to join our team on a 1-year fixed term. As a Java Developer at Deloitte, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications or software solutions for a leading North American Bank. This long-term staff augmentation role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. You will collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions to our client.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you will design and develop Java applications by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Java and Spring Boot, translating business requirements into technical solutions that follow best practices. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, project managers, and quality assurance professionals to ensure clear communication and smooth delivery across the software development lifecycle.

 
A key part of your work involves troubleshooting and debugging, identifying and resolving technical issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks by analyzing logs, using debugging tools, and partnering with the team to implement fixes. You will support quality by participating in unit, integration, and system testing, writing test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects to maintain reliability. Finally, you will commit to continuous learning, staying current with Java technologies, frameworks, and best practices through training, certifications, and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Extensive professional experience in Java application development, with a proven track record of building and supporting large-scale enterprise applications with significant business impact.
  • Experience working with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing, batch processing, or analytics workloads is nice to have.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful API development.
  • Experience developing and supporting distributed systems and service-oriented architectures in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, including data modeling, query optimization, and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including SDLC, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and version control.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, and Architects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
