Overview

Software Development Specialist II (Full-Stack Developer)

Hybrid, Mechanicsburg, PA (2 days per week in the office) 

Select Medical is seeking a Software Development Specialist II (Full-Stack Developer) to design, develop, and support modern healthcare applications that positively impact patient care and business operations. This role will work across the full technology stack, developing engaging user interfaces using React and/or Angular while building scalable backend services using .NET and C#

The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, enjoys solving complex business challenges, and thrives in a collaborative Agile environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on application modernization, cloud technologies, AI-assisted development practices, and enterprise healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications. 
  • Build modern, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using React and/or Angular
  • Develop secure, scalable backend services and APIs using .NET and C#
  • Design and optimize database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server. 
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, UX designers, and other developers to deliver business value. 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives. 
  • Perform code reviews and contribute to coding standards and best practices. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the front-end, backend, database, and integration layers. 
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices. 
  • Contribute to application modernization and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation. 
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve team productivity and software quality. 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 2+ years of hands-on software development experience. 
  • Experience building front-end applications using React and/or Angular
  • Experience developing backend services and APIs using .NET and C#
  • Strong proficiency in:  
  • JavaScript and TypeScript 
  • HTML5 and CSS3 
  • ASP.NET Core and Web APIs 
  • Microsoft SQL Server 
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. 
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns. 
  • Experience with Git-based source control systems. 
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies. 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development. 
  • Experience with Angular or React component libraries, or modern state management frameworks. 
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. 
  • Experience developing healthcare, clinical, or enterprise business applications. 
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test automation practices. 
  • Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding techniques. 
  • Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting complex system issues.
