Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team focused on modernizing a large-scale enterprise platform. This role will focus on migrating legacy Java 8 applications to Java 21 and modern Spring Boot architectures while developing scalable, cloud-native microservices. The ideal candidate will have experience investigating complex legacy systems, identifying technical debt, implementing modern solutions, and improving platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance complex Java-based enterprise applications.
• Modernize legacy Java applications by migrating from Java 8 to Java 21 and current Spring Boot frameworks.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native microservices deployed on AWS.
• Build and support containerized applications using Docker.
• Contribute to AWS cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts to support application deployment and infrastructure automation.
• Develop new application features while improving code maintainability and reducing technical debt.
• Investigate complex legacy codebases and identify opportunities for application modernization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable and high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions focused on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Support automated testing initiatives and contribute to test automation where appropriate.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Claude, or similar LLM-based tools to improve development productivity and code quality.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, performance, and production-related issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to development team members.
Required Qualifications
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Deep understanding of Java application modernization, including migration from Java 8 to Java 21.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience working with large, complex codebases and legacy enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying applications to AWS.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native application development principles.
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with Redis caching.
• Experience with Kafka or other event-driven messaging platforms.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience participating in system design and architecture discussions focused on scalability and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
