Job description

Our enterprise-level client in Buffalo Grove, IL (60089), has an immediate need to add several Junior IT Configuration Technicians to the team.  Please see below for full details--

Job Notes:

-- Onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL 60089

-- Duration = 3 months

-- M-F, 8am- 5pm

Pay Rate = $15 w2 per hour

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior IT Configuration Technician to support the preparation, configuration, deployment, and testing of IT hardware and technology equipment. This role is responsible for imaging devices, installing software, validating system functionality, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring equipment is ready for end-user deployment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with computer hardware, operating systems, asset management, and technical troubleshooting in a fast-paced production or deployment environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Configure, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, and other endpoint devices.

·        Install, update, and verify operating systems, software applications, drivers, and security patches.

·        Perform quality assurance testing to ensure devices meet customer and organizational standards.

·        Troubleshoot hardware and software issues during the configuration process.

·        Maintain accurate asset records, serial numbers, and inventory documentation.

·        Prepare equipment for shipment, deployment, or end-user delivery.

·        Receive, inventory, and stage incoming hardware and technology equipment.

·        Follow documented build procedures, deployment checklists, and technical standards.

·        Support device refresh, migration, and rollout projects.

·        Assist with asset lifecycle management, including equipment provisioning, redeployment, and decommissioning.

·        Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or engineering teams as needed.

·        Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.

Required Qualifications:

·        One year of experience in IT support, hardware deployment, device configuration, or related technical roles.

·        Experience imaging and configuring Windows 10/11 devices.

·        Knowledge of computer hardware components and peripheral devices.

·        Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and basic networking concepts.

·        Experience with asset management and inventory tracking.

·        Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and documentation.

·        Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.

·        Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, MDT, or similar deployment tools.

·        CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.

·        Experience supporting large-scale hardware refresh or deployment projects.

·        Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira.

·        Experience in enterprise, MSP, warehouse, or staging environments.
