Job description

Title: Senior Insights Analyst

Department: Data Science and Analytics

Location: 6300 Steeles Ave West, Woodbridge

Total Potential Compensation: $100,000-$135,000

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in leveraging customer, digital and transportation datasets to create insights for the development to support ongoing data science work at 407ETR. The incumbent will support analysis of customer behavior, surveys, and training and enablement of dashboard building and designs, while managing relationships internal stakeholders to bring actionable data driven solutions. This position is part of a highly collaborative and energetic team in a start-up minded environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and analyze data to understand customer behavior of existing 407 ETR data, external data sources and emerging sources to help the business answer key questions that will help grow the business.

  • Undertake analysis of targeted customer groups (segments).

  • Design, build and deploy dashboards for stakeholders.

  • Utilize geospatial analysis to provide market insights across the GTHA.

  • Ability to understand business stakeholder's issues and create valuable insight and analysis designed to help stakeholders tackle the issues.

  • Strong Mentoring and leadership skills to support and coach junior members on statistical techniques and experimental design.

  • Provide additional business insight and modeling support to data science team including advanced modeling.

  • Raise awareness and action of data science and analytics within the company to help focus on fact-based decisions.

  • Present key insights and analysis in a clear and concise manner.

  • Plan and conduct training workshops.

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working on analytics projects focusing on customer insights, A/B testing, survey analysis, and dashboard development.

  • Experience designing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data with focus on understanding attitudes, opinions and behavior.

  • Experience building and supporting a training of others on using BI tools to drive insights.

  • Well-developed business analysis, research and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Proven organizational, planning and project management experience.

  • Highly collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial attitude.

  • Strong experience in customer analysis.

  • Strong business knowledge related to 407 ETR's customer base.

  • Understand the workings of how 407 ETR conducts business.

  • Strong communication skills and work ethic.

  • Experience with SQL is required.

  • Familiarity with Tableau or PowerBI is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Python or R is an asset.

  • Familiarity with QGIS is an asset.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Strong visualization skills.

  • Understand the workings of how 407 ETR conducts business.

  • Knowledge about GTHA environment (travel patterns, road alternatives etc.).
