NAVA Software solutions is looking for a Sr. Sys Admin/ DevOps Engineer

Details:

Sr. Sys Admin/ DevOps Engineer

Location: 100% remote

Duration: 6-12 months

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can quickly learn unfamiliar systems.
  • Is comfortable working across infrastructure, automation, and cloud platforms.
  • Has built CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions in production environments.
  • Understands operational risk and production change management.
  • Requires minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Can engage vendors, follow technical implementation guidance, and drive projects to completion.
  • Has the confidence and experience to make progress without extensive hand-holding.

Must Have:

  • Senior Windows Systems Administration background
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Infrastructure migration experience
  • Vendor coordination experience
  • Ability to work independently

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Support Windows Server environments across Development, UAT, and Production.
  • Execute server migrations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.
  • Assist with Linux-to-Windows migration projects.
  • Coordinate production deployments with software vendors.
  • Perform application installation, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Support SQL Server-based applications and vendor-led upgrade activities.
  • Maintain documentation and implementation runbooks.

DevOps & Automation

  • Design, maintain, and enhance PowerShell automation solutions.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with Azure DevOps implementations and migration activities.
  • Support Azure Functions and cloud-based automation initiatives.
  • Modernize legacy operational processes and scripts.
  • Implement secure credential management practices using modern secrets-management solutions (e.g., Azure Key Vault).

Application & Integration Support

  • Support SaaS integrations and API-driven workflows.
  • Assist with Zendesk workflow automation and operational testing.
  • Develop test automation frameworks for validating business processes.
  • Coordinate implementation efforts with third-party vendors and solution providers.
  • Support email workflow automation and operational integrations.

Project Execution

  • Work directly with infrastructure leadership and technical SMEs.
  • Lead technical tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in production cutovers and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and integration issues.
  • Document findings, procedures, and configuration changes.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation expertise.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or comparable DevOps platforms.
  • Advanced Windows Server administration skills.
  • Experience supporting SQL Server environments.
  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, and automation workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating directly with software vendors and technical partners.
  • Ability to independently drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
