The Junior Infrastructure Engineer supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of Adrenaline's cloud and onsite infrastructure. Working closely with the Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer, this role provides hands-on support for core infrastructure systems while developing the technical depth and operational discipline to grow into a senior engineering function. This role also serves as a technical escalation resource for the Junior System Administrator on complex support and system administration tasks.

  • Monitoring, Alerting, and Incident Response
  • Documentation and Process Improvement

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based and onsite infrastructure environments
  • Support the administration of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity management
  • Manage and maintain Office 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Administer, identity and access management systems including Entra ID and Active Directory
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts; escalate issues to the Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer as appropriate
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for the Junior System Administrator, on complex support issues and system administration tasks
  • Assist with backup processes, disaster recovery procedures, and DR testing
  • Support infrastructure hardware and software lifecycle management
  • Maintain and contribute to technical documentation across all areas of responsibility
  • Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in an IT infrastructure, systems administration, or related technical role
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Entra ID administration
  • Understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPN, and switching
  • Experience with Windows Server administration in a corporate environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery tools and practices
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • CompTIA, Microsoft, or other relevant certifications
